Working more with grid systems on the compositions of these. Just a simple modular grid for now, but will have to start playing with more interesting ratios! Have I ever mentioned how much I love working with grid systems?

Three More!

Continuing on with this experiment, and things are getting more interesting! In the two of these with text, I’ve used scanned pages from an old copy of Marshall’s Handy Manual, which was published in 1911. I picked it up, along with a box of other book-treasures, at a garage sale last summer. I’ll be combing these for more material to work with!

Shining a Light

There’s a line in this song, Maximalist, by Baths, that stops me in the middle of whatever I’m doing and asks me to really listen. I think you should listen, too. Last night, I decided to make this little illustration in response, using a mix of traditional and digital techniques. I kinda like it.
