Postcards from the Past

The EastBank Art Gallery here in Sioux Falls is hosting a really neat postcard art show/sale in November, and the reception is this Friday starting at 5:30 PM!  They sent out a call to artists requesting up to 5 pieces – and I decided to create a few (5!) drawings for the show.  Here are 4 of them… I ended up digging out my mechanical drafting pencils to draw these –  a tool I’ve been mostly ignoring the last year or two in favor of pens and paint.  It felt so good to bring them back out!

There is more graphite in the near future, rest assured!

I know several others who are contributing work, and I’m pretty excited by what I’ve seen!  So you all should come on down and check it out if you are in the area.  It will be a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping – all the art will be on sale for $30.  For original pieces of art that’s quite the deal!

To match my excitement, I must share a song that always gets me grooving – DJ Shadow’s Organ Donor

See you Friday!
